16 days of pilgrimage in India, accompanied by devotion, Vedic sciences, contemplation, and contact with Sadhus (monks) in a place of great power and inspiration: THE HIMALAYAS.
Ayurveda, Yoga & Vedanta are the three pillars of this YATRA!
October 26 to November 10, 2026: RISHIKESH – UTTARKASHI – HARIDWAR – DIWALI CELEBRATION (FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS)
A Yatra (pilgrimage) to India is a dream many of us share… This is our fourth edition of this spiritual journey. We have carefully shaped and refined it to offer you an experience that will make your heart vibrate and provide you with strength, structure, and purpose in your inner growth.
Northern India, in particular, holds a special kind of magic for us: it is the land where our teachers began their mission to spread the Vedic sciences; the refuge of sages and saints who inhabit the sacred stories; and the place where Satyadev completed his teacher training 22 years ago. In recent years, we have spent long stays there—three months each year—connecting, learning, and gradually putting down roots in this sacred land that we increasingly feel is our home.
We want to take you by the hand and share with you our vision of the mystical cradle of Yoga. India is a land full of contrasts—vibrant, loving, and intense—suspended between the extroverted and the introspective. We will journey together as a group to explore it with awareness, in a slower, more heartfelt, and deeper way. We won’t try to cover the entire territory, visit every temple, or taste every flavor. We will do it our way—in complete nourishment and harmony on all levels. It will be a retreat-style journey in the Himalayas, a pilgrimage that invites us to explore with purpose while making space to become silent, still, and receptive to the sacred energy of this ancient land.
¿Why the Himalayas?
The sacred land of the Himalayas stretches across the regions of Nepal, Himachal Pradesh, Kumaon, and Uttarakhand. Our journey will focus on Uttarakhand, locally known as Dev Bhoomi (“The Land of the Gods”), due to its abundance of holy sites. Beholding the vastness of these green mountains—some capped with snow—is deeply moving. It is said that every mountain in the Himalayas is a Devata (Deity) who descended to be close to Mother Divine Ganga (the Ganges River). And that’s exactly how it feels: a serene presence that protects, embraces, and uplifts. The Ganges River is a source of life and a timeless symbol of inspiration and energy. Each day, we will find ourselves at her feet. Mother Ganga is the true QUEEN OF THE HIMALAYAS!
¿Why go on a pilgrimage?
The spiritual path begins with an inner urgency born from dissatisfaction with the material world. We have spent years immersed in a system that encourages movement in our outer sphere while leaving us internally parched. That’s why the soul longs for depth and demands what rightfully belongs to it: inner peace and self-realization.
The word Yatra in Sanskrit simply means pilgrimage. It comes from the Latin peregrinari, meaning “to travel away from one’s place of origin,” especially in a religious or spiritual context. However, we like to understand the word YATRA by exploring its syllables more deeply: the Sanskrit root «Ya» means “to go” or “to move,” relating to the idea of movement. The suffix «tra» adds a sense of “crossing” or “transcending.” Yatra is therefore a path or movement that crosses through… What does it cross? Everything! The body and its physical capacity. The mind and its shifting, conflicting emotions. The intellect and its unresolved crossroads. And the spirit, which in some mysterious way is being revealed to us through this sacred journey.
We travel with a spiritual purpose—we wish to immerse ourselves in the subtlest impressions, to let go of old habits, to rediscover ourselves, to savor silence, but above all, to find inner freedom. There is no other kind of journey that can fulfill these aims; it is a voyage into the depths of the Self.
NOTE: This is not a tourist excursion. It is a journey carefully designed for spiritual growth—a conscious path on which we will encounter ourselves, allowing space for discomfort, confrontation, wonder, and the transcendence of all expectations.
Integral Yoga among the majestic green giants of the Himalayas!
¿What will the Yatra be like?
This edition offers three extraordinary components:
1. Ayurvedic Treatment:
We begin our Yatra in an Ayurvedic Resort-Clinic located in the sacred mountains, where we will focus on relieving stress, anxiety, and supporting physical, mental, and spiritual rejuvenation. Each participant will receive a personalized consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor who, based on the diagnosis and individual constitution, will recommend the most suitable treatment.
Indicated for: fatigue, general weakness, anxiety disorders, mental overload, neck, back, and shoulder pain, insomnia. (The treatments offered are for wellness, health, and spiritual support, and do not replace professional medical care or a diagnosis from a licensed health practitioner.)
Main treatments: Full-body massages (Abhyanga), Shirodhara, Nasya, steam bath, etc.
Ayurvedic diet according to your constitution.
Yoga, meditation, and deep rest.
2. Uttarkashi: The Abode of DIVINITY. A place where one cannot help but awaken to a higher consciousness. This region, long associated with austerity and discipline, has been a refuge for sages, monks, and spiritual seekers. It fulfills its promise of purification—a sacred point on Earth that has witnessed many stories from the Vedas and Puranas. Here we will encounter:
Local temples, Sadhus and Mahatmas of the Himalayas.
The sacred Gangotri, the source of the Ganges River.
𑁍 The glorious Sivananda Ashram
3. Rishikesh: To close this journey magnificently, we’ll explore the birthplace of YOGA. This magical place offers everything a yogi seeks—from the tangible, like incense, images and murtis, japa malas, shawls, clothing, bags, notebooks, instruments, and Ayurvedic products—to the subtle and ethereal, like the uplifting energy vibrations of its countless ashrams and temples. It’s a true paradise for the body, mind, and soul. In Rishikesh we’ll visit:
The Divine Life Society Ashram and other traditional ashrams.
𑁍 The place of austerity of Swami Sivananda.
𑁍 Ancient temples of Durga and Shiva.
𑁍 The famous Ganga Arati evening ceremony.
𑁍 The best shops for Ayurveda, deities, instruments, and spiritual treasures.
𑁍 Haridwar, one of India’s most beloved pilgrimage destinations, known as the Gateway to God.
𑁍 This year, we will celebrate DIWALI in India—one of its most important festivals, filled with light, color, food, and joy.
𑁍 And of course, a few surprises we prefer to keep secret for now 🙂
Be good and do good: the goal!

Observations
- Flights to India are not included; you must arrange them on your own. Make sure you have all necessary visas for your transit countries. We recommend purchasing your ticket as soon as you reserve your spot.
- Flight considerations:
We suggest arriving in Delhi one day earlier and booking a hotel near the airport. This helps with jet lag and ensures no complications for the group meeting on October 26. Uber works very well and is inexpensive; taxis are also reasonably priced. Within the plan, your transportation from AeroCity in Delhi on October 26 at 10:00 am is included. If you cannot arrive a day earlier, make sure you are in Delhi before 10:00 am on October 26. For the return, we recommend staying one extra night in Delhi or booking late-night flights, since the transfer from Rishikesh to the airport on November 10 involves checking out at 11:00 am plus approximately 6 hours of travel. - What should I bring? Our travel motto is always LIGHT! Since we will visit many temples and sacred places, you should pack modest clothing and avoid low-cut, sleeveless, or very tight outfits. Bring a light towel, a cap, and comfortable walking shoes.
- What is the weather like in October–November? Along the banks of the Ganges, the weather is pleasant—cool but not too cold, with breezes and fresh afternoons. In Uttarkashi, the climate will be cold. We recommend thermal clothing, a good jacket, gloves, and a warm hat. There may be sunshine during the day, but once it sets, the cold intensifies significantly.
- What communication options are available during the trip? Purchasing a SIM card for unlocked phones at the airport is very easy and costs around 15 USD. You can also buy an eSIM online through Airalo or Holafly. WiFi may be available at times, but it is not guaranteed. It’s a good practice in detachment and mental decluttering.
- What will the food be like during the pilgrimage? All meals will follow sattva-purity principles. The food will be vegetarian, and we will maintain an austere lifestyle with Ashram norms—no tobacco, drugs, or alcohol. We cannot accommodate personalized diets; if you need something specific, you must ensure you bring it yourself.
- Is the food spicy? Yes! Indian food is seasoned and generally spicy. We will always try to request non-spicy meals, but from experience, it can be difficult in these kitchens to remove the heat entirely. Most of the time, buttermilk (a fermented dairy product) will be served to help balance the spice. If you are sensitive, bring your own supplements or necessary medication.
- Do I need vaccines? We recommend following the guidance of your local health authorities and your physician. We cannot take responsibility for this; please consult the relevant authorities in your country. For travelers from Colombia, the yellow fever vaccine is mandatory.
- What medicine should I bring? If you take any medication, bring it with you. Medicine for motion sickness, diarrhea, and dehydration is strongly recommended. While there are pharmacies and Ayurvedic shops offering many wonderful remedies, essentials should be brought from home.
- Do I need insurance? Yes! You must purchase international travel insurance on your own. Satyarupa does not provide any insurance. By choosing to join the journey, you accept full responsibility for your safety and wellbeing. One month before the journey you must send us a copy of the policy you purchased.
- Do I need a visa for India? Yes! You can apply for a visa at Travisa.com or through other accredited visa services. Two weeks before the trip you must send us a copy of the approved visa.
- Health considerations: You are responsible for informing us of any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, medications, or physical limitations. By voluntarily participating in Ayurvedic treatments and the Yatra, you assume all risks associated with the practice, including physical, emotional, or energetic reactions. Neither the Yatra organizers, nor the Ayurvedic facilitators, nor any associate or representative of the journey will be responsible for damages, injuries, losses, or consequences that may arise from the treatments offered.
- Tips and dakshina: Tips for drivers, waiters, swamis, and temples are included in the plan. However, you are encouraged to consider additional offerings for those who help you with luggage, for priests, and in sacred places, so as not to miss the merit (punya) generated by these donations.

¿Who leads the trip?
Satyadev and Satyabhama, practitioners and teachers of Yoga, Vedanta, and Ayurveda in the Sivananda tradition for decades. With a personal commitment to helping illuminate the inner light of every being, allowing us to evolve toward a world vibrating at the highest frequency of light and infinite love. We dedicate our lives to connecting hearts and sharing valuable teachings that have brought deep inner wealth to our own lives. We want to accompany you on your spiritual path… praying that by applying what you learn, you may realize your highest potential in this very lifetime. We are overjoyed to share this dream together.♡ ¡This is our fourth immersion, and it never disappoints!
¡An unforgettable experience awaits us!
