Uniting with the Self: Vedanta Retreat with Swami Sharavananda Giri – Huasteca Potosina, MX – March 28 to April 1

For the First Time in Mexico, a Saint from the Himalayas – India – Swami Sharavananda Giri

5 days and 4 nights in the mystical Huasteca Potosina living the wisdom of Vedanta: The Source of All Knowledge

Friday, March 28 to Tuesday, April 1

The Mahatma (Great Soul), Swami Sharavananda Giri, will share the most authentic way to study and practice Vedanta, a tradition that has been used for thousands of years in India to help spiritual seekers understand the answers to questions such as: What is the Self? Who am I? It is said that the answer to these questions ends all other inquiries in life, thus extinguishing suffering.

The practice of listening to a great teacher transmit the knowledge of the Vedas, the ancient scriptural texts of India, has been the foundation of spiritual liberation for countless people. This immersion offers the gateway through which Moksha, or true freedom, is attained. In addition to his wisdom, Swami Sharavananda Giri is the highest embodiment of sweetness, joy, and gentleness. We know no better way to learn this knowledge, which can sometimes seem dry… It’s nectar that nourishes the body, mind, and soul. Just being in his presence is inspiring.

In this retreat, we aspire to return to a simple, uncomplicated, and light life, so that we can make space for sublime, creative, and elevated thoughts. The place that hosts us is basic, deeply connected to the elemental forces of nature, and this makes it magical. The daily ritual of bathing in the river, the concert of birds in the morning, and the pristine silence will make this a retreat with great purpose.

What is Vedanta?

Vedanta is an ancient philosophical and spiritual tradition originating from India. Its name comes from the Sanskrit words «Veda» (knowledge) and «Anta» (end or culmination), meaning «the culmination of knowledge.» It reflects the ideas that arise from the study of the Upanishads, which address topics such as knowledge and liberation. Vedanta, or the study of the Vedas (the philosophical scriptures), forms the foundation of Jnana Yoga, the Yoga of Knowledge.

Will there be Yoga Asanas in the retreat??

Our teacher, Swami Sivananda, recommended the Yoga of synthesis, where all paths of Yoga are practiced simultaneously: Karma, Bhakti, Raja, and Jnana. This retreat will be no exception; we will include all the components of integral Yoga so that a profound transformation takes place, allowing participants to fully enjoy the experience…

Who can participate in the retreat?

No experience is required! All levels are welcome!

Why should you participate in the retreat?

✓ Because Mahatmas like Swami Sharvananda Giri are among the most important teachers of Traditional Advaita Vedanta in India. They rarely travel to the West or anywhere outside of India, or never do.
